Paige Rasmussen was born in the mountain town of Bozeman Montana. One of five children and daughter of young, artistic parents, she always dreamed of performing for audiences. Coming from a long line of musicians, actors and art enthusiasts, finding her artistic  “specialty” was a right of passage in her talented family. After listening to and participating in her fathers band rehearsals she finally landed on music at the ripe age of five, and has been running with that passion ever since.

As a child she jumped at any and all opportunities to perform. She played the part of Fan, Ebenezer Scrooges loving little sister, in a local production of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol as well as key roles in other local theatre productions, such as Blyth Spirit, Annie, and many more.

When she was fifteen she was asked to sing lead for a professional touring R&B Band, Bluejack. She sang classic R&B, Soul and Funk standards from the catalogues of musical titans such as Aretha Franklin, Etta James and James Brown. She developed a strong love for Soul music during this time and was afforded a wealth of experience that would shape the artist she would later become. She was given the opportunity to travel around the United States and perform at famed venues and music festivals including the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.  She also became accustomed to sharing the stage with world-renowned artists such as The Doobie Brothers, Kenny Loggins, John Hiatt and more.

Broadening her musical style, she developed a love for Hip Hop and co-wrote a collaborative record in San Francisco with Rock Shock-It Records called Songbird Sing. The record traveled, and was played throughout the United States and Europe. She has since continued to work on many Hip Hop records and has a deep connection with the genre to this day.

With a strong desire to pursue more experience in theater, she landed a role on the Las Vegas Strip. Paige sang, acted and danced in an eclectic show, Raw Talent Live that premiered at the Sahara Hotel and Casino. The Cast was made up of primarily Cuban artists haling from Havana. Playing a part in a bilingual show, Paige became proficient singing in Spanish and became familiar with Latin music and rhythm styles.

Directly following her Las Vegas debut Paige wanted to reach out into other mediums of entertainment, namely film production.  She had dabbled in film as a child and young adult but now she was ready to give it her full focus. She was offered the opportunity to work on a feature called Pure Country 2 starring Katrina Elam and George Strait, so she packed up her car and drove from Vegas to Nashville. She has several film credits to her name that include Assistant To The Producer, Associate Producer, Actor and Composer. She has been recognized with a Telly award and an Emmy Nomination for her pursuits in the field. She has worked with acclaimed artists such as Chris Cain, Michael McKean, Cheech Marin and Val Kilmer.  The parallels in music and Film were what drew her to the set, she continues to work in film and considers it an important part of her background and the performing arts as a whole.

Paige has always had strong roots in Montana. Upon her return to Big Sky Country she has endeavored to serve her community through charitable pursuits and by sharing her music at any opportunity. She sings the anthem at MSU sporting events and her recently formed group Paige & The Peoples Band has jumped at any chance to give back, performing at local fund-raisers for organizations like Big Sky Youth Empowerment, Big Sky Sports Organization, and Montana Give Big. Paige & The Peoples Band was recently featured on the PBS Emmy award winning series 11th and Grant with Eric Funk and was voted Bozeman’s Best Rock band.

Paige has most recently joined a group of forward thinking, Montana musicians who hope to break down barriers and collaborate with Cuban musicians to create a new genre and promote musical cooperation that reaches beyond international borders and politics. The Montana~Havana Bridge Project offers a unique opportunity to push boundaries and create multi faceted music that has the potential to break down walls and promote connectivity between people of different backgrounds. Paige is happy and honored to be a part of such an important project and she is excited to apply her knowledge in Cuban music to an altogether different and exciting endeavor.
